FCC Provides over 4,300 Meals!

Love the Hungry is a Louisville based non-profit that seeks to provide nutrient rich meals that help to alleviate starvation and malnutrition both locally and throughout the world.

The meals are pre-prepared packs of healthy, vitamin rich, and easy to prepare food that are packed by volunteers and then donated to Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO’s) worldwide with an emphasis on reaching the world’s most vulnerable children.

While their primary target is children in developing countries, 15% of the total meals packaged are provided to Kentuckiana agencies to assist local families in need. More than 19,000 volunteers have participated in Love the Hungry packaging events – producing more than 3,500,000 meals.

On April 17, 2016, twenty-five people from First Christian Church representing all age groups spent an afternoon packing food at Love the Hungry. They were able to prepare over 4,300 meal packs that are already on the way to those in need.
