FCC Helps Provide Care for Families Through Innovative Program for Parents and Children
A local organization that serves the needs of families in crisis recently surveyed their clients, asking how they might provide some additional support to households with children. The survey revealed that while there are multiple resources available to help families in need, there aren’t many opportunities the nurture the bonds between parent/caregiver and children.
Nurturing Pathways was a perfect fit!
Nurturing Pathways is an innovative dance/movement program for children age birth through four. Using dance and movement activities, the program helps provide parents and caregivers with the opportunity to increase their bond with their children as they learn about positive parenting techniques and methods to decrease the stress of adverse childhood experiences.
The video included with this article does a great job of describing the program in depth as well as giving a sneak peek into one of the class sessions.
Because of limited financial resources and numerous other situational challenges faced by participating families, this program would not have been possible without a wholeness grant from First Christian Church of Louisville. The grant is funding twenty class sessions that last an hour.
The wholeness grant used to fund this ministry was made possible through your faithful financial support of our church and its ministries and help fund a variety of efforts to make our world a better place.
