First Christian Church Helps Give Exploited Women a New Beginning

According to the National Human Trafficking Hotline, there have been over 3,700 sex trafficking cases in the US during 2018. Since 2007, there have been over 32,000 cases.

The average age of entry into prostitution is 13.

89% of women trapped in exploitation said they wanted out, but had no other means of survival.

Thankfully, organizations like Scarlet Hope are changing the future for women caught in sex trafficking and the adult entertainment industry. Their mission consists of outreach and discipleship through career development training, counseling, and life skills development.

Scarlet's Bakery Louisville

At the heart of Scarlet Hope's ministry is Scarlet's Bakery, an 18-month job training program that gives women the job skills and experience they need to leave exploitation and begin a new life.

First Christian Church is honored to announce that we have partnered with Scarlet Hope by supporting their bakery program with a Wholeness Ministry Grant. We are so grateful for the work they are doing!

To learn more about their ministry, please watch the above video. You can also visit their website. As a preview of what you will find, here is a quote from one of the many women Scarlet Hope has helped.

I came here broken, I now am mending. I came here hopeless, now I have hope. I came here not knowing how to love, to becoming a loving person. I came here not knowing how to be a mother, to turning into being a good mom. I've learned accountability. I've learned that I have a purpose. It's done so many remarkable things in my life, it's simply amazing.

The wholeness grant used to fund this ministry was made possible through your faithful financial support of our church and its ministries and help fund a variety of efforts to make our world a better place.
