FCC Helps Bring Hope Through Life Saving Technology

WaterStep dreams of the day when no child or adult suffers or dies from a waterborne illness. Water connects every aspect of life. Currently, 844 million people live without access to safe water and 2.3 billion people living without access to improved sanitation. (water.org) Access to safe water and sanitation can quickly turn problems into potential – unlocking education, work opportunities and improved health for women, children and families across the world. WaterStep trains ordinary heroes (pastors, community leaders and NGOs across the globe) on how to use safe water solutions like water chlorination, bleach making, health education and well repair, empowering communities to take care of their own water needs for years to come. We believe that the best solutions to water problems are rooted in simple tools and effective training. The World Health Organization says to truly transform communities into thriving communities, you need safe water, disinfectant and health and hygiene education. WaterStep trains communities across the globe to be self-sufficient in all of the areas. We train here at our headquarters, on the field and through our virtual water school. Currently, WaterStep has worked in over 40 countries including disaster areas in Puerto Rico, Colombia, Philippines and Ecuador.
