First Christian Church Partners with Hildegard House, a Hospice for Those Without a Home
While serving as a Nurse Practitioner of Palliative Care, Karen Cassidy's heart broke every time she had to discharge a dying patient from the hospital knowing they had no home or loving family who would take care of them during their final days.
Responding to that brokenness, Karen created Hildegard House, an inpatient care center that provides a loving home, quality end-of-life care and access to hospice services to people in need. In many ways, Hildegard House becomes a family to those who have no loved ones in the final stages of their life.
In the video above, we visit Hildegard House and hear about the great work they are doing there.
In early 2017, First Christian Church partnered with Hildegard House by providing them a Wholeness Ministry Grant. This grant was used to help support volunteers, provide special care for residents, and help keep Hildegard House operating.
You can learn more about Hildegard House by visiting their website. If you are interested, you can also learn how you can volunteer to support this incredible place.
The wholeness grant used to fund this ministry was made possible through your faithful financial support of our church and its ministries and help fund a variety of efforts to make our world a better place.
