FCC Builds 25 More Beds for Homeless Students

After doing a story for WHAS 11 about the heartbreaking reality of so many children in our community not having beds, church member Rachel Platt knew she wanted FCC to get involved in an effort to change that. There are about 13,000 homeless children who attend Jefferson County Public Schools. A conservative estimate is that 3,000 of those children have no bed on which to sleep. Working with the Build a Bed project, FCC members and friend built 25 beds for homeless students in 2016 and a new grant is allowing for 25 more beds in 2017. The wholeness grant used to fund this ministry was made possible through your faithful financial support of our church and its ministries and help fund a variety of efforts to make our world a better place.
