Dreaming God's Dream - Week 2

Build-a-Bed is one powerful way we invite our community to discover Christ and live out God’s call through First Christian Church of Louisville. This ministry of building beds for thousands of children in Jefferson County Public Schools who don’t have one, is making a real difference in their lives. It offers a good night’s sleep for the children and the knowledge that they are loved and matter. We have had the privilege of meeting some of the children who have received our beds and been on deliveries to see firsthand their pure delight and cheering over something so many of us take for granted. FCC was the first church in our area to partner on this project, and you can be part of that tradition and impact.

This is just one example. Our congregation is deeply committed to transforming lives through initiatives like collecting schools for Water Step or clothing for those without a home and regularly bringing food to the unhoused through Forgotten Louisville. We’re not just preaching transformation; we’re living it, as we follow God’s call to be generous with all our resources.

Thank you for partnering with us through your financial gifts. Your response to a generous God directly helps spread the Good News of Jesus Christ and helps us be a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world, welcoming all to the Lord’s Table as God has welcomed us!

In the coming weeks, we’ll share how we’re responding to God’s invitation to Dream God’s Dream. Because faithfulness is an endeavor that encompasses our whole lives, this requires both spiritual and financial commitment.

Because you’ve already invested in our mission, you’ve seen firsthand the difference your generosity makes. Now, we challenge you to prayerfully consider how God is calling you to grow in your giving. Look at the enclosed chart and consider what it would look like to increase your contribution for the coming year.

When you are ready, you may fill out your pledge online, print and fill out this document, OR fill out a pledge card on Sunday while at worship. You'll find the cards in the pews and in the entryway.

Join us on Sunday November 2nd, as we come together to present our pledges and celebrate together in worship. Thank you again for your vital role in the life-changing ministry of this church. Your generosity is transforming lives - and thanks, God, that includes our own.

Gratefully,

Rachel Platt and Gary Fogle

FCC Co-Presidents
