Afternoon at Christian Care Communities
- Apr 15
- 2 min read
FCC Elders have been offering bible study to residents of Christian Care Communities (CCC) since the 1960's through the Minary class. While the CCC is a wonderful community for folks who have multiple care needs, it does not resemble some of the lavish facilities built in the last 10 years. Therefore, residents thrive with interaction from outside folks, such as musicians, ministers, and volunteers.
On Sunday, May 17th, from 4:00 – 6:30 p.m. the Brass Pack (Larry Smith’s band) will play at Christian Care Communities while the residents and visitors enjoy a cookout and good company.
Here’s what we need:
· One dozen summer salads to serve 10-12 people. (Potato salad, pasta salad, coleslaw, carrot/raisin salad or whatever your specialty is.)
· 4-6 volunteers to help facilitate the meal.
· Donations of $20-$50 to offset the $400 cost of the Hamburger/Hot Dog meal.

· Plus, if you are available to mingle and share your stories with residents, that would be much appreciated.
It is this sort of expression of care and community involvement that have made First Christian Church of Louisville a great place to worship in 1846, in 1911, in 1979, and in 2026.
