FCC Helps Bridgehaven Mental Health Services Meet Two Important Goals!

Mental health issues are at the core of many problems faced by people across our community. In Louisville, Bridgehaven Mental Health Services provides much needed support for those in need. Bridgehaven provides the highest quality community based psychiatric rehabilitation and recovery services, education, and support to those touched by mental illness.

Through the connection many FCC members have with Bridgehaven, we learned of some things they really needed for those in their program.

For example, they purchase food in bulk to decrease costs of providing lunch to around 100 members each day. Members participate in menu planning and selection of food to be ordered, and then assist with packaging and storing food in freezer for future use. Members also prepare food and serve those in attendance each day.

Unfortunately, their freezer unit was no longer functioning optimally and they needed a replacement. Part of our grant went to purchase a new freezer.

They also needed to provide greater access to technology. With the remainder of the grant, they were able to purchase two televisions that are being used to project scheduling, offer information, connect to computers as a monitor, as well as many other uses.

Once the items were purchased, FCC members helped install them and get them ready to serve the needs of Bridgehaven and their entire community.
