In her work at the Episcopal Church Home, church member Cheryl Cubbage saw how institutional life, no matter how good it is, can lead to feelings of monotony and reduced meaning and purpose. Every Sunday morning, the children of First Christian Church engage in some form of outreach ministry. Recently, they decided to provide care kits for children receiving chemotherapy. Each of the kits included items to help with side effects of chemo such as chapstick, hand sanitizer, tissues, mints (nausea), gum, ring pops.
