Worship is a central part of our faith lives. At First Christian, we seek to provide worship services that help lead to a deeper relationship with God and one another as well as how to apply our faith to daily life. We have three worship services that you are invited to attend each Sunday along with special services scheduled throughout the year. Worship Service Schedule: 8:30 a.m. – This service is more traditional in nature. The worship order is more liturgical in nature and the congregational music primarily consists of hymns led by our very talented organist. Special music is more varied and includes both traditional music and songs performed by our worship band. 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. – These services are more contemporary in nature and resemble each other almost identically. The worship order is more flexible and the congregational music primarily consists of praise music led by our worship band. Our worship services are generally theme based and focus on a variety of faith issues and how they impact our lives. To see an upcoming schedule of worship themes, please return to our home page. Music Style: Music is one of the many ways we express ourselves in worship. At First Christian Church, we are blessed with a very talented worship team that provides the very best in music ministry. Regardless of what service you attend, you will have the opportunity to hear our band share their talents. If you’d like to hear a sample of their music, click play on the link below to hear a song from their most recent cd. A Word About Communion: Communion is a central part of our worship experience. It is celebrated during every worship service each week. We believe that just as the love of Jesus Christ is open to all believers, so is communion. Everyone who worships with us regardless of tradition of faith is invited to participate in communion – no exceptions… If you are worshipping with a child, we leave the decision of his or her participation entirely to you. Please feel free to let them participate with you either by taking of the bread and cup and/or by explaining to them what this very special moment means. Sermons: Our worship services are typically theme based with a strong connection to scripture and life application. If you’d like to hear an example of one of our sermons please visit our sermon page. |
